I am an artist living in Massachusetts and trying to start a professional career. I have worked on a few private commissions and also illustrated characters for a novel. I have graduated from Umass Dartmouth with a major in Illustration and a minor in animation. I have also been in the New Bedford newspaper. My main focus as an artist is Visual Development. If you don't already know, visual development focuses on the beginnings stages of an animated film such as characters, interior and exterior environments, props, vehicles, and anything else that has to do with creating the world and overall tone of the film.

I guess you can say that I have always been an artist, even as a little kid. I always remembered drawing animals as a kid. Looking back at them now, they don't look very good at all, but starting young definitely helped me become the artist I am today. In college my style has changed tremendously, but after graduating I realized what I wanted to do with my art. I really enjoy traditional animation and how lively and how important its role played in later animations that I wanted to be in that kind of environment. Animation has definitely played a key role in what I wanted to do. I have spent the past couple months, refining all of my work, learning new techniques, and looking at artists that inspire me to draw and how they got where they are today. My art style is very loose and exciting. I have a gestural quality in my line work. I use very light washes of color because my line is definitely my strongest quality. I am very interested in sci-fi, renaissance, and old fashioned art.  Having a background in animation definitely strengthens my work tremendously. It gives my art a quality of motion and dramatic emotion. I am a traditional artist at heart and most of my work shows my actual line art from paper, not digitally made. I try to stay to my roots and keep traditional art as alive as it can be.

I am so glad to share my art with you and hopefully you enjoy everything about it as much as I enjoy making it.
